STEPS TO BECOME A FLORIDA LICENSED
CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT
We've made it simple. CNA Training & Testing Center prepares potential CNA testing candidates for the Florida Nurse Aide exam and collaborates with Prometric and the Florida Department of Health to ensure candidates test as quickly as possible.
Earn your Home Health Aide diploma while you await your CNA testing date by adding American Heart Association CPR for BLS provider certification and 6-hour Medication Technician certification.
If at least 18 years old:
High school diploma is not required.
GED is not required.
If under 18 years old, high school diploma or GED is required.
Must be able to pass level 2 background.
Experience is not required.
Complete four days of
instructor-led Certified Nursing Assistant preparation for the written and clinical examination in the clinical classroom.
Utilize unlimited practice time for clinical skills* during steps two and three.
Submit the online application for the Florida Nurse Aide exam. Link and IFT site-code to be given on the final day of class.
Allow the State 3 to 4 weeks for processing and approval AFTER fingerprinting for licensing and employment.
Pass your State exam. Results of your exam will be available immediately following testing.
Prometric will send passing scores to the Florida Department of Health. Within 7 to 14 days, successful candidates are licensed and placed on the State Registry.
