In light of the continuing health crisis, the American Heart Association BLS provider course has been reprogrammed into a hybrid format consisting or e-learning, followed by a one hour in-person skills sessionCompletion of e-learning and skills session results in the same American Heart Association  BLS provider course completion certification.

Prometric COVID-19 Update re: Florida Nurse Aide Testing

Update 008, as of June 25, 2020

Florida CNA testing will resume state-wide for regional testing sites beginning July 1, 2020, and at CNA Training & Testing Center on July 7, 2020. 

While much about testing will remain the same, Prometric is instituting new safety procedures for all Nurse Aide testing events in respnse to COVID19, including special training for Prometric staff, cleaning at regional and in-facility testing sites, and a new requirement for all test takers to bring and wear a face mask for the duration of the testing event. Prometric COVID-19 Update re: Florida Nurse Aide Testing

Florida CNA testing will resume state-wide beginning July 1, 2020.

Prometric is in the process now of scheduling IFT candidates into testing event dates beginning July 7, 2020.

If you are:

1) a CNA Training & Testing Center candidate; and,

2) your application to test is approved; and,

3) you have a urgent scheduling request or request for a specific date or month;

For all other CNA Training & Testing Center candidates whose eligibility is approved but have not identified a need to test urgently, Prometric will schedule in the order received by the Board of Nursing.

Prometric COVID-19 Update re: Florida Nurse Aide Testing

 

Update 006, as of May 31, 2020

Prometric has determined it is necessary to suspend Nurse Aide testing in Florida for another 30 day period, starting June 1st. This step has been taken to re-establish safe and reliable testing. Prometric anticipates resuming Nurse Aide testing on July 1st in testing locations that are prepared to resume testing. 

CNA Training & Testing Center is prepared to resume testing. Once testing resumes, we will be working with the Florida Operations Team to support scheduling of our displaced testing candidates, as well as expanding our open days and adding additional available testing dates.

If you have do not have an existing confirmation, but your eligibility has been approved by the Board of Nursing and you are awaiting a test date, click here so that we can assist Prometric in facilitating a successful Nurse Aide testing resumption.

Note to prospective and currently enrolled CNA testing candidates: Florida law provides that an initial application must be reviewed within 30 days by the Florida Board of Nursing. Current Board of Nursing processing time for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is 8 to 10 days.

Important Message Regarding License Expiration Dates

 

Update 005, as of May 31, 2020

As part of the response efforts to the Novel Coronavirus 2019 (COVID- 19), Governor Ron DeSantis extended the licensure renewal expiration date until May 31, 2020 for any health care practitioner with licensure renewal deadlines between March 21 and April 30, 2020. Please see below for the extended renewal dates.

 

The expiration date for Certified Nursing Assistants with a current expiration of 05/31/2020 is now extended to 08/31/2020.

CNA Training & Testing Center Statement re: Message to Candidates

 

Update 004, effective May 1, 2020

Classes classes resume May 4, 2020.

As we begin to adapt to our new normal amid the new coronavirus, COVID-19, we want to inform you of our path forward.

 

Effective May 4, 2020, we have implemented the following in addition to our existing procedure and operation:

  • Reduced class size, not to exceed 10 per session.

  • Face masks will not be required, but will be provided upon request (one per person) at the front desk.   

  • Twice per day disinfection of classrooms, supplies and common area and frequently touched surfaces.

  • *CPR students only: Each student will be provided an individual use pocket mask with one-way valve during CPR skills practice and for real world use.

  • No open practice on Fridays until further notice. Fridays will be used as an additional testing day once Prometric testing resumes.

 

Please remember that the COVID-19 situation develops nearly daily. We ask for your patience and understanding while we adjust, as well as while we communicate and coordinate with third party agencies such as our livescan vendor, the Florida Department of Health, and Prometric to ensure our CNA testing candidates test as quickly as permissibly possible. 

 

We are grateful for your desire to make a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable populations, and that you chose our CNA by examination route to that end.

Update 003, effective April 1, 2020

Classes postponed through May 1, 2020.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has issued a statewide 30-day Stay-at-Home Order in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, effective midnight April 2, 2020.  Consistent with this Executive Order, the order mandates that all Floridians limit movements and interactions outside their home to only essential services and activities, such as grocery, gas stations, pharmacies, etc.

SCHEDULED CLASSES

All registered students will be contacted within 24 hours.  Options for registered students are as follows:

1) TRANSFER - Transfer to an alternate available date.  Additional class dates have been added for the months of May and June to allow for a broader class date selection.  Please take a look at the schedule online and advise by email at info@cnatrainingandtestingcenter.com with an updated class date selection.

2) REFUND - Request a registration refund via the last Q&A on the FAQ page at www.cnatrainingandtestingcenter.com.

Our Center will be closed through May 1, 2020.  Assistance will be made available via email at info@cnatrainingandtestingcenter.com.  Please be sure to include your first and last name a callback number.

We anticipate resuming our normal hours and class schedules May 1, 2020, unless otherwise notified.

Throughout this time, Reliable Livescan will still be accepting livescan fingerprinting appointments for the required Level 2 background screening for healthcare licensing and employment.  Accomplishing this now, rather than later, will also expedite your CNA exam application processing time. CNA Training & Testing Center Statement re: COVID-19

Update 002, effective March 27, 2020

 

As you may be aware, Hillsborough County has issued a Safer-at-Home Order, effective Friday March 27, 2020 at 10:00 pm.

 

Until now, we have been able to continue our scheduled classes by following the guidelines and recommendation of the CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention); however, with the issuance of the Safer-at-Home order, we must take our effort to "flatten the curve" a step forward and suspend all classes until April 12, 2020, unless otherwise notified by state or local officials.

SCHEDULED CLASSES

Options for registered students are as follows:

1) HOLD - Put the registration on hold for a TBD date.  When the Safer-at-Home Order is lifted, we will be adding additional class dates to choose. 

2) TRANSFER - Transfer to an alternate available date, please take a look at the schedule online.

3) REFUND - Request a registration refund via the last Q&A on the FAQ page at www.cnatrainingandtestingcenter.com.  

 

OFFICE HOURS

CNA Training & Testing Center Statement re: COVID-19

 

Update 001

As concerns about the spread of Coronavirus increase, we’re reaching out with a brief update to let you know how the CNA Training & Testing Center team is preparing and planning to provide uninterrupted operation and support during this time.

HOURS AND SCHEDULED CLASSES

We are continuing normal hours and class schedules.  During this time, we will continue to practice our routine cleaning schedule, which includes daily disinfecting of classrooms, supplies and common area surfaces, as well as providing antimicrobial soap at each our five handwashing stations.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL CHANGES

Effective March 16, 2020, we will also implement the following instructional changes:

 

For CNA, include COVID-19 lecture and discussion during standard precaution and infection control instructional block.

 

For CPR, each student will be provided an individual use pocket mask with one-way valve during CPR skills practice.

For all classes, reduced class size of less than 10

REFUND POLICY

We encourage anyone that is not feeling well to stay home when sick. 

 

For registered students who are ill, an exemption to our existing class date transfer policy has been made to allow for a one-time registration transfer to an alternate class date. No changes have been made to our refund policy and refund requests will be processed as usual. 

IMPORTANT:  For CNA testing candidates who are ill within 5 days of your scheduled exam date, please immediately contact Prometric directly at: (888) 277.3500.
