REQUIREMENTS:

If at least 18 years old:

 

High school diploma is not required.*

GED is not required.*

If under 18 years old, high school diploma or GED is required.*

Experience is not required.*

Our instructor-led three week Phlebotomy Technician certification preparation prepares participants for the National Medical Career Assessment Certification (MedCA) for Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT). The examination preparation program is designed to meet the national certification curriculum requirements and includes theory and hands-on instruction, including venipuncture and collection of blood specimen.

 

CNA Training & Testing Center is a testing site for the National Medical Career Assessment Certification (MedCA).

 

Topics covered include:

  • Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Blood Cells and Vessels

  • Methods of Specimen Collection

  • Specimen Collection and Transport

  • Special Phlebotomy Procedures

Hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, blood donor centers, and other locations will need phlebotomists to perform bloodwork.
